Pakistan Standard Time reverting from 1 Oct 2009.
According to high placed sources, the government is planning to revert the clocks to Pakistan Standard Time (PST) on October 1, 2009. In this regard a proposal summary is under process and only Prime Minister’s formal approval is awaited. An official announcement will be made after the Prime Minister’s approval.
The clocks were advanced by an hour at the start of summer season in a bid to use greater part of the day light, a step taken on the proposal of Ministry of Water and Power. Named as Day-light saving time, the clocks were advanced by one hour to save electric energy and to help the power starving country.
