28 oct 2009 KARACHI: A key attempt to trigger terrorist attack in Karachi has been foiled yet another time as at least five members of a banned religious outfit, Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, have been nabbed from Orangi Town locality, meanwhile, heavy amount of explosives including 100-kg explosives, 2 suicide jackets and 5 Kalashnikovs have also been seized here late on Wednesday night.
According to sources, on receiving secret intelligence, the CID team raided on a house located in Orangi Town locality and arrested 5 workers of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi outfit along heavy amount of explosives, meant for carrying out a deadly terrorist attack.
The criminals were reported to be residents of different parts in Karachi who were trained on launching terrorist attack in Waziristan Agency, sources maintained.
CID sources said, the alleged offenders wanted to target official buildings and other key personalities; meanwhile, police have kicked off raids and search operations to nab fleeing four their aides.
